    Two men and a woman are sentenced to prison after destroying transformers at a switchgear in Kimstad, in Norrköping municipality. This is reported by P4 Östergötland.

    It was in February this year that the trio entered the civil protection facility in search of metals. The cost of the destruction amounts to tens of millions of kroner, according to the radio channel.

    The three receive between two and a half, and three and a half years in prison. Two of them are convicted of serious damage, unauthorized access to protected objects and theft, while the third is convicted of aiding and abetting serious damage, among other things.

  • Two lorries in collision – stoppage in traffic

    Two trucks have collided on county road 55 north of Strångsjö in Katrineholm, the police write on their website.

    Emergency services and police are working at the scene.

    The road is completely blocked in both directions and the clearing work is expected to take hours.

    No one is said to have suffered serious injuries in the accident.

    An alarm was received at 5:52 p.m. that a passenger car had ended up in the water in Stångån in Linköping for an unknown reason.

    It must have happened at Kallerstadsleden, the police write.

    A major rescue operation has been launched on site.

    – Work at the site is currently underway. Rescue services, ambulances and several police patrols are working together at the scene, says Mats Pettersson, press spokesperson at the police.

    Four people are said to have been in the car when it ended up in the water.

    – The information I have right now is that everyone should be out of the car, says Mats Pettersson.

    The extent of the damage is currently unclear.

    A motorcyclist has driven into a container in Gothenburg.

    The man is taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter.

    – The damage situation is serious, says Peter Adlersson, press spokesperson at the police.

    The man’s age is unknown.

    – I don’t have the man’s age right now.

    The alarm came in around 5:30 p.m.

    – We will seize the motorcycle to carry out a technical examination and see if there is anything wrong with it. We have to see if there are witnesses and try to form a picture of what happened.

    The accident happened in an industrial area.

    President Joe Biden commented during Tuesday evening on the announcement of the election of Tim Walz as vice presidential candidate:

    – It was a good decision. He is a strong, principled and effective leader, he says according to ABC.

    Until Biden dropped out on July 21, Walz was a strong supporter during his campaign for re-election in this year’s presidential election.

    A passenger car and a mobile home with a trailer have collided on the E4 in the northbound direction at Tånnö south of Värnamo.

    Four people are affected, but no one is said to be seriously injured.

    There is some rubble on the road, and the road is therefore closed.

    On the Swedish Transport Agency’s website, it says that there is no forecast for when the road can reopen.

    A man shoots passers-by with an air rifle from an apartment building in southern Stockholm.

    The man is said to have fired with an air rifle from the second floor of a residential building. Two passers-by have been hit.

    – One was hit in the calf and the other in the hip. No ambulance was needed.

    The person who called the police himself went up to the apartment from which the man shot and confronted him. He then took the shooter outside to wait for the police who arrived and confiscated the air rifle.

    A report of assault, or attempted assault, will be drawn up.

    Lina Selleby, former member of the pop band Doktor Kosmos er död, states Dagens Nyheter, which quotes a post from Selleby’s former husband, Teet Sirotkin, on Facebook:

    “Then the brain tumor took Lina in the end, Positive and joking in the end. Always considerate of others, and especially of the children […] Sleep tight, dear.”

    Selleby, also known as Twiggy Pop, was a member of the band Doktor Kosmos, which she also co-founded in 1991 together with Uje Brandelius and Martin Aagård. She was 53 years old.

    A 23-year-old man is charged with three attempted murders in Malmö against a total of seven people. According to the indictment, he allegedly shot at various homes in Oxie and Malmö on December 17 and 18 last year.

    On one of the occasions, a man was hit in the arms and according to the prosecutor, it was only incidental circumstances that the man was not killed. On another occasion, a shot went into a kitchen cupboard in a residence, where four people were. In the third residence that was fired upon, the bullets hit a window, but did not go through the pane.

    The man is also charged with aggravated weapons offences.

    Two passenger cars have collided head-on on the E22 at the height of Öljersjö.

    Five people are affected, at least three will be taken to hospital by ambulance.

    The road is completely closed and there is no forecast when it might reopen.

  • Man in custody for the murder in Borås

    Two men were arrested on Monday for the murder of a man in Borås last week.

    Now one of the men has been detained following a decision by the prosecutor, writes Borås Newspaper.

    The murder suspect has connections to gang criminal environments, according to prosecutor Carolyn Westeröd.

    – That’s right, she tells the newspaper.

    Whether the other man should also be detained will be decided by Wednesday at the latest.
