A woman in Bromölla received life-threatening injuries after she was pushed into a fire. Now a 45-year-old man has been charged with, among other things, attempted murder, writes Kristianstadsbladet and Norra Skåne.
The police and emergency services were alerted to a house fire in July this year. At the scene, the woman and the man were found seriously injured.
The man was quickly suspected of starting the fire. Now he has also been charged with attempted murder of the woman.
According to the suspects, the man must have poured petrol into the home, lit it and then pushed the woman, who is known to him, into the flames.
She had come to the villa to see how he was doing. The night before the fire, the man had contacted the police and said something terrible was going to happen. He was driven to the psychiatric ward in Kristianstad by the police, but was allowed to come home later.
In questioning, the man has denied having deliberately set fire to the villa. He has said that he did not want to hurt anyone and that he has no recollection of pouring gasoline in the home.
