The young woman was found brutally stabbed to death on the banks of the Danube.

The parents identified their 23-year-old daughter as the victim.

But the discovery by the police changed everything.

– Cases like this do not appear every day, says Andreas Aichele at the police in Ingolstadt.

It is an eerie murder plot that the police claim to have uncovered in Ingolstadt, Germany.

The case goes by the name of the double murder in the German press and according to the suspicions, a 23-year-old woman was tricked into her death for a single reason.

She was like a woman of the same age who “wanted to disappear” by faking her own death, writes The Guardian.

Found murdered in Mercedes

On Monday, the police presented the suspected motive after much and long speculation in the media.

It all started on August 16 last year. Then a young woman was found murdered in a Mercedes that was parked in a quiet residential area on the banks of the Danube in Ingolstadt.

The car belonged to 23-year-old Sharaban K.

The parents “found” the car that evening and family members later identified the victim as the daughter.

But the autopsy quickly made the police suspect that something was wrong.

Be “strikingly similar”

The dead woman could later instead be identified as 23-year-old Khadidja O, a beauty and fashion influencer from the city of Heilbronn.

Both women were “strikingly alike” according to the police. In addition, the victim’s face was slashed almost beyond recognition. In total, she was stabbed more than 50 times.

Sharaban K and friend Sheqir K were arrested three days after the murder and have been in custody since then.

But it is only now that the police have made public what they have come to in the investigation.

And the data is shocking.

– The investigation has led us to believe that the accused wanted to disappear because of a family feud and therefore faked his own death, says prosecutor Veronika Grieser at a press conference on Monday.

Fooled on Instagram

According to the suspects, the 23-year-old woman made contact with a number of women on social media in the week before the murder.

All of them have looks that were similar to her own, but no one picked up on the attempts to meet to discuss a “makeup and beauty offer”.

Finally, she got Khadidja O to agree to a meeting after a contact on Instagram. Together with their companion, they picked her up from her apartment in Heilbronn on the day of the murder.

In a wooded area on the road to Ingolstadt, they lured the victim out of his Mercedes. There she was stabbed to death before the couple loaded her into the back seat and drove her to the parking lot by the Danube.

The police were shocked

– The murder weapon has not been found, but the evidence is overwhelming, says police spokesperson Andreas Aichele to German Bild, according to The Guardian.

– The victim was killed with more than 50 stabs with the knife. The face was completely disfigured.

The pair now face life in prison.

– Cases like this don’t come along every day, especially with such a spectacular twist. The day we found the body, we could not prepare for this development, says Aichele.
