Tribute to Céline Deluzarche

Tribute to Celine Deluzarche

Futura mourns the disappearance of the journalist Céline Deluzarche, a pen of great talent, with a sharp look, who never missed a good subject. We are all stunned by this sad news. The entire Futura editorial team supports his family in this terrible ordeal and sends him all their sincere condolences.

It is with great sorrow that the editorial staff learned of the death of our colleague Céline Deluzarche, who passed away from a long illness on December 17. We are losing a brilliant journalist who had a passion for her profession, and a wonderful colleague, generous, fighter, who always tried to keep her good humor despite the terrible trials she was going through.

Very concerned by the scientific questions of our time, Céline devoted all her time to writing her news articles, to surveys, by interviewing major players in health and innovation, by always being interested in the most varied subjects, constantly guided by curiosity and the search for meaning. During all these years, her articles have met with great deserved success in all the fields on which she worked. His two favorite columns were ” Bizarre Patient ” and ” Offbeat Science », For which she always uncovered unusual subjects, sometimes incredible or funny, but always treated with the greatest scientific rigor. Anxious to offer everyone the keys to understanding the world and our daily life, Céline has written numerous Questions and Answers, always pointing to the essential and important themes.

Futura loses a journalist highly esteemed for her talent and her writing, a lively and alert mind with whom we had the pleasure to exchange. Despite her illness, she worked tirelessly, with perseverance and the same pleasure.

We all wish you a very beautiful journey in this elsewhere that we hope full of happiness, of sweetness, to you who suffered so much in your flesh, and a new, brighter horizon. We will miss you very much.

All our thoughts are with his family and loved ones in this immeasurable ordeal.

Some messages from the editorial staff

“Céline, This doesn’t happen to me often. Yet today, words fail me… how I will miss you. We did not always share the same opinion. You know. But that’s how you enrich a life. Of all these contrary opinions. And you enriched mine. Without a doubt.

Ah sure, you had personality! But above all, you had all those qualities that made you unique in this adrift world: intellectual honesty, enthusiasm and, perhaps most importantly in my eyes, modesty. Congratulations to you for having been able to stay the course. Stay on course! “
Nathalie Mayer

“Céline, we will never forget your quick wit, your curiosity and even less the energy you devoted to writing every day. Reading you will have been a constant pleasure, hats off! dear Céline for the diversity and the multitude of texts which enlightened the reader. How not to be touched by your discretion and your sudden departure which will leave a void among us. May your journey guide you to infinity where I hope for you, star among the stars. “
Suzanne Lapauze

“Céline, I discovered you during our discussions especially when we were talking about the photographers, your ideas for slideshows, and you always managed to find original things. You are a sunny person, a beautiful personality, the distance and your illness prevented us from getting to know each other better and I regret it. I know that where you are, you will light up the space. We won’t forget you that’s for sure. “
Agnes Bugin

“Céline was able to write on any scientific theme and popularize it, a real Swiss army knife! She astonished me by the versatility of her knowledge, a pure and hard autodidact. Of course, she had detractors sometimes. His writings did not leave indifferent. But she was honest and honest. A hell of a personality, a damn character even! That’s for sure, but we forgave her so much because, in addition to having a style, a feather, she was a relentless, bulimic of work. She had a knack for finding unlikely subjects. She looked like she had circled the earth ten times in search of an original idea while we slept.

Internet allowed her to survey the world … Her own way of being among the living. Over the years, through its lines, a sensitive, gentle, passionate, fiery, affectionate personality has emerged … Endearing.

Celine, I can’t believe it, a few days ago… you delivered your articles… the last one I read about you was about these little bees that survive under tons of ash after a volcanic eruption.

You will survive through your articles. “

“Céline, you had a knack for finding original and relevant subjects. Just by reading the title and the hook, I knew I was reading one of your articles. Your style was unmistakable. You were as discreet as you were hardworking, but you also knew how to defend your point of view with fervor. Our exchanges were always friendly and I regret that they were so few. Your departure left me speechless, but your words will always be there. “

It came as a shock to me to learn of Celine’s sudden death. Admittedly, at the start of the pandemic in 2020, she confided to me that she suffered from a chronic disease but she had remained discreet about her nature and it seemed to me that it would have been inappropriate of me to know more. . Among the few exchanges that we sometimes had apart from those which were public with the other members of Futura, he sometimes wanted to verify points of physics and geology with me. So it was without hesitation that I defended her on Twitter when someone – whose name I will not mention – claimed that she was plagiarizing her articles. Celine’s integrity and skills were beyond doubt to me.
She will be missed by all of us.

“It is with infinite sadness that we learned of Céline’s death. His subjects and articles, always original, have nourished an incalculable number of readers and will continue, to be sure, to give them food for thought. “Céline had the ability to deal with all types of subjects with unfailing professional rigor. She had this gift of going out to unearth original and fascinating subjects, which one did not see elsewhere and which she carried to our readers with a style and a unique pen. She was also a colleague with a strong character who defended science body and soul. Responsive and enthusiastic, Céline was a sure bet who displayed a lot of energy in her work despite the fight she was leading behind the scenes. I extend my condolences and support to his family and loved ones. We will continue to bring you to life through your articles, you will be missed. ”
