Trial started after shooting in Farsta subway station

The accused shooter has confessed and claims he took it upon himself to carry it out because people otherwise threatened to harm his family.

– I got out of the car, I shot, then I got into the car, then we left. I don’t know if I met the right person, the now 20-year-old man said in questioning eleven days after the shooting.

He stood by the confession when the trial began on Wednesday.

– He admits that for his own part, not jointly and in agreement with others, he has fired a large number of shots with an automatic weapon at the indicated crime scene and time, says his lawyer Markus Bergdahl.

The hearing is held in a security room in the Attunda district court in Sollentuna, where the audience, in addition to passing a security check, was searched by the police before being admitted.

Six met

The shooting in Farsta in southern Stockholm happened just after 6pm on Saturday 10 June last year. The shooter arrived in an orange BMW, got out and pointed an automatic carbine at the subway entrance and fired 21 shots.

Many people were at the scene and six people were hit. A 15-year-old boy who met friends to go to a fun fair and a 43-year-old photographer who was returning home from a photo assignment died.

Another 13 people risked being hit and killed, according to the indictment.

– The person who sent the instructions said that I should meet as many people as possible that the person was with. It was said that I would kill, but it was not something I wanted to do, the 20-year-old said in the interrogation.

Threats against police officers

The shooter left in the same car he arrived in, but was arrested about half an hour later together with the driver when the police stopped them after a chase on E4.

In connection with the chase, the automatic weapon is said to have been aimed at the police, for which the shooter and the driver are charged with aggravated threats against an official.

– Weapons, weapons, weapons, weapons, one of the police officers can be heard saying when the car slows down during the chase.

The police material from the body cameras also shows how one of the suspected perpetrators is arrested lying on the ground.

It is unclear who was to be shot

The driver, like the shooter, is also charged with murder and attempted murder, together with a man who is said to have acted as a scout. A fourth person is charged with aiding and abetting.

All three, all 19 years old, deny involvement in the shooting, although they admit certain circumstances.

The investigation has not been able to determine with certainty who was to be shot. Prosecutor Angelica Runesson has stated, however, that the criminal network Foxtrot ordered the crime and that it was part of a conflict with the Dalen network.
