FS construction works continue but 9 out of 10 trains

(Finance) – More and more people are choosing to travel on board the Regional using a digital travel ticketa choice that reflects not only practicality but also a commitment towards more sustainable mobility. Precisely to further simplify the travel experience and respond to customer needs, the Regional Authority has decided to extend the digital sales channels also to ticket offices, making it easier for everyone to travel in an environmentally conscious and respectful manner.

Starting tomorrow, Saturday 19 October, passengers who go to the ticket office they will be able to choose between purchasing a paper or digital travel ticket. By opting for the digital ticket, travelers will be able to reduce the use of paper, thus contributing to reduce its environmental impact, without giving up the convenience of receiving all the information on your device.

The characteristics and methods of use of the digital ticket are the same as those purchased online, guaranteeing travelers a simple, fluid and sustainable experience. A choice that the Regional Council promotes with conviction, because every small gesture, such as reducing the use of paper, can contribute to build a greener future for all.

Over 40% of regional travel tickets are now purchased via digital channels, demonstrating how travelers are enthusiastically adopting increasingly simpler and faster solutions. Furthermore, still on the subject of digitalisation, to offer greater convenience to travellers, the Regional has significantly accelerated the automatic validation process of the digital ticket, anticipating the activation compared to what was initially expected. From the end of September, in fact, the Regional digital ticket is automatically validated at the scheduled departure time of the train, eliminating the need to carry out manual validation.

The innovations do not only concern the digital ticket: the paper travel document will also be subject to a major restyling, becoming more compact. This change is part of the Regional’s commitment to sustainability. According to estimates, the reduction in the size of the paper ticket will result in paper usage savings of 121,800 square meters per yearor. A concrete contribution to reducing environmental impact, which demonstrates how even small changes can have a large effect over time.
