(Finance) – Over 2 million passengers chose Trenitalia’s night trains in 2023 (+25% compared to 2022). A comfortable and sustainable way of traveling that also connects Rome and Cortina, thanks to the new “Espresso Cadore” of FS Treni Turistici Italiani, a company of the Passenger Hub of the FS Group. “Night trains are strategic means for redesigning the concept of mobility with a view to sustainability, intermodality and competitiveness. The demand for night travel is growing and the new winter connections of Trenitalia and the Passenger Hub meet the needs of travellers. The Furthermore, the development of this segment is supported by Trenitalia’s investment plan which, also thanks to PNRR funds, is renewing 70 night carriages intended for trains to and from Sicily, which will enter service by 2026” he declared Luigi Corradi, CEO of Trenitalia.

TRIPS TO ITALY AND EUROPE WITH INTERCITY NIGHT AND EURONIGHT – There are 28 Trenitalia night connections that allow you to travel in Italy and Europe. Among the most popular mountain destinations in our country is San Candido, in Trentino-Alto Adige, reachable on weekends by night Intercity starting from Rome. Those who choose the South, however, travel mainly towards Lecce, Reggio Calabria, Palermo and Syracuse, starting from Turin, Rome and Milan. In Europe, thanks to the collaboration with the Austrian railways OBB, it is possible to reach the center of Vienna and Munich on board the Euronight trains. There are two connections between Rome and the two European cities, with intermediate stops in Florence and Bologna; and two connections from La Spezia, with intermediate stops in Genoa, Milan and Verona.

FROM ROME TO CORTINA ON THE FS CADORE EXPRESS ITALIAN TOURIST TRAINS – Those who love traveling at night by train, until February 25th, will also be able to reach Cortina starting from Rome on board the new “Espresso Cadore” of FS Treni Turistici Italiani. A night trip that will also take you to Orte, Orvieto, Treviso, Ponte nelle Alpi, Longarone – Zoldo and Calalzo. Passengers can choose between single or double sleeping cabins, with dinner and breakfast included in the cost of the ticket, or 4 or 6-seater berths which can also be reserved entirely for group travel. The restaurant car where you can dine comfortably served and a bar open all night are available to passengers.
