(Finance) – “A 70-year-long film”. It was presented today at platform 25 of Rome Termini station – in the presence of the president of Trenitalia, Stephen Cuzzilla; of the Intercity business director, Dominic Scida; of the extraordinary commissioner of the Taormina Arte Sicilia Foundation, Sergio Bonomo; of the Councillor for Tourism, Sport and Entertainment of the Sicilian Region, Elvira Belovedand of Chiara Franciniactress, writer and producer – the Intercity train dedicated to the Taormina Film Festival which this year celebrates its seventieth edition. The special Intercity of Trenitalia personalized with the portraits of the most famous national and international actors and directors, will connect Rome and Sicily starting from today, July 4, until September.
“We are proud to present this Intercity train dedicated to the Taormina Film Festival, one of the oldest film festivals in Italy. The bond between trains and cinema has ancient roots and, with this partnership, we are further concretizing Trenitalia’s commitment to supporting culture in all its forms, connecting territories and people to their passions”, declared Stefano Cuzzilla, president of Trenitalia.
On board, the interiors of the carriages are decorated with additional shots and with the colours and graphics of the exhibition, creating an immersive experience for passengers. During the journey, the two semi-trains will separate when crossing the Strait of Messina, taking different directions with final destinations in Palermo and Syracuseto spread the art of cinema as widely as possible. Currently there are 4 Intercity Day and 6 Intercity Night trains arriving daily in Sicily, ensuring accessibility and territorial continuity.
Reaching Sicily with Intercity will give you the opportunity to benefit from a 10% reduction on the cost of the entrance ticket to the Taormina Film Festival and any event scheduled within the events programmed by the Taormina Arte Sicilia Foundation.
