Trelleborg raises the fees – by five million a month

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Electricity is rising at rocket speed, inflation is increasing and a major war is raging in Europe.

But in times that many describe as a period of crisis, Trelleborg’s municipality hammered through a decision on Monday afternoon that made many furious – in advance.

Five million kroner more a month will be paid by taxpayers when the fees for the municipality’s politicians are raised substantially.

Trelleborg resident Lars-Erik: “It’s absolutely incredible”

The municipal board’s moderate chairman Ann Kajson Carlqvist gets the most, whose fee will be increased in two stages – first, in 2023, from SEK 71,500 a month to SEK 89,000, and then increased to SEK 125,000 a month in 2024.

– It is absolutely incredible. They have no shame in their bodies, to do that in these times when we have it so damn bad when it’s drilling and banging everywhere in the whole world, says Trelleborg resident Lars-Erik Jönsson.

But the municipality believes that the level is reasonable.

– If you want to be able to be a politician in such a complex reality as we live in, you have to be able to work more, and therefore the fees have been increased as a consequence of that, says Venzer Rosqvist (M), chairman of the remuneration committee.
