Three Kronor won against Finland in the WC.
Then Tre Kronor sent out a huge taunt at the rival.
“10/10 tweet,” writes one user.
Sweden doesn’t usually lose to Finland in a championship context, and the streak continues after a super drama on Monday. The World Cup group stage match was even and tight, and went all the way to penalties, with Sweden drawing the longest straw.
Wonderful mockery
Frölunda’s Lasse Johansson played big in the Tre Kronor goal, just like Växjö’s golden hero Emil Larmi did in Finland’s. The match ended 1-1 after regular time, but after two goals by Lucas Raymond in the penalty shootout, Sweden was able to secure the extra point. And the joy afterwards was great among the Swedish players.
Winning against the worst rival Finland – in Finland – is of course huge for Swedish hockey, and it all comes only days after Sweden and Finland had a real fight in a completely different context. When the Eurovision Song Contest was decided this weekend, it was precisely Finland and Sweden that stood between – but even that time Sweden drew the longest straw, when Loreen won the ESC for the second time.

“Best I’ve read in a long time”
After the World Cup shock that Sweden won, they chose to sprinkle more salt in Finland’s wounds. Tre Kronor’s official Twitter account shared victory photos from the match – and in the text they also had a lyric from Loreen’s winning song “Tattoo”. The tweet has received a lot of attention and a lot of likes – and everyone agrees that it is an absolute world-class mockery.
On Twitter, reactions are pouring in about the absolutely fantastic mockery.
“Haha wonderful!”, writes one user.
“10/10, this is exactly what the Internet is good for. Thanks for that!”, writes another.
“The best tweet I’ve read in a long time,” writes a third.
