Transport: ASSOTIR, MIT’s commitment to quickly resuming political discussion is good

G7 transport ministers starting in Milan from 11 to 13

(Finance) – ASSOTIR welcomes the news of the meeting with confidence – which will be held quickly – with the political interlocutors of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. The announcement was made during the meeting held yesterday – again at MIT – with the Head of Department, Dr. Teresa Di Matteo.

The Italian Association of Transport Companies, in addition to asking for the necessary clarifications regarding excise duties, – we read in the note – intends to resume the institutional discussion in a structured and continuous way. The first issue to be addressed will beto define the Rules for the sector which, after the work carried out at the technical level in recent months, now requires the necessary political decisions.

As for the study presented on the minimum reference costs, while waiting to be able to express a more complete technical evaluation, we can positively point out the Administration’s activation on a topic which indicates a desire to improve an instrument that is currently quite incomplete.

“ASSOTIR look forward to the next appointment with confidence – he comments Claudio Donati, National Secretary of the Association. – There are neither threats nor anathemas to be launched, but simply everyone – associations and institutions – is called to assume the own responsibilities and, based on the decisions that are taken, it will behave accordingly.”
