– The tram comes at high speed in a sharp left curve and derails over the intersection. It then runs a good bit on the asphalt and into the pizzeria, says the police officer guard Mårten Gunneng.
The accident occurred at the intersection Vasagatan and Avenyn at 00.49, the night of Friday.
“No grip on injury situation”
Rescue services, police and ambulance are in place with several units. Eight people are injured and have been taken to hospital, one of them is the driver of the tram. The others were in the tram, on the sidewalk and in the pizzeria.
