Last Tuesday, a freight train and then an intercity collided with a rail crane and its debris. The driver of the crane was killed and dozens of people were injured. ProRail is currently still busy with the track repair. For example, overhead lines and catenary portals must be replaced, the track itself is broken, sleepers are damaged and safety systems must be checked and possibly replaced. The intention is that train traffic at Voorschoten can be resumed on Tuesday.
