The work vehicle was out on the main line to carry out work on the railway between Sköldinge and Flen when it derailed shortly before 11pm on Tuesday evening.
Shortly afterwards, a freight train came onto the track next to it.
– The freight train that passed hit the work vehicle in the side, says Felicia Danielsson.
No personal injuries
No one should have been physically injured in connection with the collision.
– There weren’t that many injuries, which is why we were able to sort this out quite quickly. At one o’clock in the morning the freight train could be moved, says Felicia Danielsson.
Traffic started
An accident scene officer was called out after the incident and at 03.30 the traffic on the route was back to normal.
The Swedish Transport Administration currently has no information on why train traffic was not stopped immediately in connection with the derailment of the work vehicle. It is also unclear whether the State Accident Commission has been informed of the incident.
