Trainers find secret event with Kecleon – Starts today

There’s probably a secret event with Kecleon coming up in Pokémon GO today. This is what trainers from New Zealand report, where it has already started.

When does it start? In the Pokémon GO subreddit “TheSilphRoad”, trainers report that an unannounced event is starting today, December 18, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. (via reddit). This is called “Hidden Surprise” and revolves around Kecleon. It is scheduled to run for three hours until 8 p.m.

It can be assumed that this event will also start in this country at 5:00 p.m. local time. During this time, Kecleon appears to be appearing more often than usual. It also becomes a showcase Pokémon that you can compete against each other in competitions.

What kind of event is this? Kecleon is usually found very rarely and in a roundabout way. Because the Pokémon can camouflage itself and hides on PokéStops. You first have to find it there and click on it before you can catch it – it doesn’t just appear in the wild like other Pokémon. We’ll show you exactly how to catch Kecleon here.

The surprise variant goes well with the Pokémon: its original release after a Community Day at the beginning of the year also expired unannounced.

Is the Kecleon event in Pokémon GO worth it?

In itself, Kecleon is not a particularly powerful monster in Pokémon GO. But the opportunity to get it with a greater chance should be taken if you don’t have your Pokédex entry yet. Because catching stealth Pokemon is usually a difficult undertaking.

Above all, the event is also worthwhile for trainers who still have the GO Tour Hoenn masterpiece research open. Page 3 of the tasks contains the challenge of catching 10 Kecleons. The event should be a very good opportunity to get closer to the rewards from research.

What else is going on in Pokémon GO? The year is coming to an end, so the typical winter events in Pokémon GO are running. The “Winter Holidays Part 1” event has currently begun, bringing you the debut of Flaniwal. More events will follow in the coming days: For example, you can look forward to a raid day with the new Damythir.
