All trains in Sweden have been ordered to enter stations and stop there. The reason is that the Swedish Transport Administration’s telephone system is down. – We don’t know when it might be resolved, says Bengt Olsson, press manager at the Swedish Transport Administration. When the telephone is down between the traffic centers and the train drivers, a security system kicks in that forces the trains to slowly make their way to a station. – It is a pure security measure. The traffic centers cannot communicate if, for example, there is someone on the track or if something is happening, says Bengt Olsson. According to Olsson, all traffic centers in Sweden are affected. This means that all trains are affected. There is no forecast for when traffic can resume.
