Train burns in Austrian tunnel

A train with around 200 people on board caught fire on Wednesday evening – when the train was in a 16 kilometer long tunnel in Austria. This is reported by local media.

A major operation is underway to evacuate everyone on board the train, which was on its way to Hamburg.

The fire is believed according to the public service company ORF having started when a catenary fell on a car being loaded onto the train.

There are no reports of personal injuries. The tunnel, Terfener Tunnel, is about three miles east of Innsbruck.
