After Charlie Sheen’s Two and a Half Men journey came to a premature end, the Hollywood star surprisingly quickly secured another series: Anger Management. From 2012 to 2014 he appeared in 100 episodes. However, since then he has no other leading role played, neither in a film nor a series.
In recent years, Sheen has mostly only taken on small parts and appeared as a guest star in various projects, such as Bookie, the latest creation from Two and a Half Men creator Cuck Lorre. Now he’s finally leading a series again. This is called Ramble On and has received a first trailer.
First trailer for the meta-comedy series Ramble On: Charlie Sheen makes a podcast out of money
In Ramble On Charlie Sheen plays himself. He has done this many times in the past. But he has never acted as the center of a series. Ramble On makes him a star – and puts him straight into cash trouble. In order to free himself from a difficult financial situation, Charlie Sheen accepts a podcast offer in the series.

Ramble On – S01 Trailer (English) HD
Ramble On was created by Doug Ellin, known for the HBO hit Entourage. Ellin has brought some familiar Entourage faces back in front of the camera for his latest series, most notably Kevin Connolly and Kevin Dillon, who find themselves in the roles of Sheen’s visibly distraught podcast producers.
In addition, names such as Tramell Tillman (Severance), John C. McGinley (Scrubs), Jamie-Lynn Sigler (The Sopranos), Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows), Ana Ortiz (Everything Betty) and Kimiko Glenn ( Orange Is the New Black) into the cast. Producer Mark Cuban (Shark Tank) takes on the role of financier in the series.
Even Sheen’s father, Martin Sheen (Apocalypse Now), appears in the trailer, playing himself. Ramble On is deliberately designed as a meta-comedy that, despite the fictional podcast plot, plays itself out can be applied to Charlie Sheen’s career. And who knows, maybe Sheen will actually start a podcast soon.
Charlie Sheen comeback and Entourage reunion: Ramble On is not over yet
Even if the trailer suggests a finished series, Ramble On has been on so far only one pilot episode was produced. This approach is not unusual, even if we are now used to something different from Netflix and Co. Traditionally, most series shoot pilot episodes to test how they are received.
A squadron is only ordered when a pilot convinces those responsible and those who provide funding. Ellin and his team are currently presenting Ramble On to various broadcasters and streamers in order to find a home for the meta-comedy. So far, however, there is no trend as to where we can see the series one day.
