GTA 6 hints at a romance between the characters in the first trailer. Are we actually getting a Bonnie and Clyde story?
Rockstar Games has finally released the trailer for GTA 6 – in the middle of the night and 15 hours earlier than originally planned. But now we in Germany are awake and can take a closer look at the details of the trailer. The characters in particular provide a first insight into the story of the long-awaited game.
What do we know about the characters? Already in the first scenes we see one of the two main characters, a young woman who is addressed by the name “Lucia”. She seems to be in a prison right now and says it’s bad luck that she ended up there (minute 00:06 to 00:11). Lucia is also the first female protagonist in the GTA series.
Later there is a scene in which Lucia sits in the passenger seat of a car with cash in her hands. At the wheel of the vehicle is a man who should be the second main character (1:00 to 00:04).
The name of the male character is not yet known. But it looks like he and Lucia have a love affair reminiscent of Bonnie and Clyde.

How do we come up with a “Bonnie and Clyde” story? During the scene in which the two are sitting in the car together, tons of police cars come towards them. The cash in Lucia’s hands and the bandanas around their necks suggest that they have just committed a crime.
Lucia’s voice can be heard in the background saying: “The only way we can get through this is by sticking together, as a team.” At the end of the sentence, the scenery changes and we see the intimate moment in which Lucia says the sentence pronounced. In the background there are banknotes on the bedside table.
The final scene of the trailer then again shows the two protagonists storming into a store wearing bandanas and holding guns in their hands.
What other details does the trailer reveal? We see numerous scenes that show the crazy life in Vice City – a big city based on Miami that captures the atmosphere of Florida.
There are also swamps with flamingos and alligators, hovercrafts, sun, beaches and the nightlife of a metropolis (0:11-00:36). A nightclub with a DJ is also shown (0:34).
A highlight of the trailer is definitely the weirdness of the city and its citizens. Whether it’s the alligator walking into a store (0:48), men whose excesses are shared on social media (0:50-0:57) or an older woman armed with hammers, the neighborhood watch in her nightgown takes over (0:57).
Of course, cars shouldn’t be missing in GTA either. We have already seen a lowrider and some sports cars and muscle cars. There are also various boats and a small plane.
