“Deplorable and Tragic”
“It is deplorable and tragic,” he says of the beginning of the traffic year, says Malte Burwick, who is head of the organization Atentis, which works for increased traffic safety.
According to Burwick, it is likely that the accidents can be traced back to classic road safety deficiencies, for example that one does not adjust the speed to the road conditions, does not keep the required distance, or does not focus completely on driving.
— When it’s slippery, when there are difficult road conditions, then there are extra small margins.
“What is needed is for everyone to really take this seriously and apply the driving style that you once learned when you were trained to get your driver’s license,” says Burwick.
