Traffic stop leads to drugs police

Officers found $93,000 in drugs and cash after a traffic stop early Friday, Sarnia police say.

A vehicle was stopped in relation to a Highway Traffic Act violation at about 4 am Aug. 26, and it was discovered one of the occupants was wanted on an outstanding warrant, police said.

The person was arrested and searched, and police found methamphetamine, fentanyl and cash; then found more after searching the vehicle, police said.

Altogether, police seized 157.2 grams of street-ready fentanyl, worth $31,440; 21.1 grams of pure fentanyl, valued at $50,000; 75.6 grams of methamphetamine, worth $3,580; and $7,840 in cash, police said.

Nicole Rosemary Joseph, 28, Amber Lynn Marie White, 27, both of Sarnia, and Curtis Brown, 29, are all charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime, over $5,000, police said.

Joseph and White remain in custody pending a bail hearing, police said.

Brown is wanted on an outstanding warrant in relation to this incident as he was transported to hospital for medical reasons, police said.
