Corona measures and traffic jam
The ANWB keeps track of the traffic jam figures every year. During the corona period (March 2020 to April 2022) there were significantly fewer traffic jams. At that time, there was work-from-home advice and advice to travel outside rush hour as much as possible.
After the measures were withdrawn, the roads immediately became much busier. The total number of traffic jams has increased by another 19 percent this year compared to last year’s increased traffic.
