And things are going well for the company Tradera, to say the least. In 2022, they reported, according to All companiesa turnover of SEK 408 million, a net profit of SEK 55 million and assets of SEK 150 million.

While things are going well for the company, the turnover of certain products has also increased, which has contributed to millions being spent on the site.
In an interview with News24 tells Sofia Hagelinpress officer at Tradera, that one reason why certain products are in demand more than others is partly connected to the fact that people want to find luxury products at a reasonable price.
– I think that many people who already buy clothes second hand are starting to realize that you don’t have to limit yourself to the wardrobe when it comes to second hand shopping. There is a great demand for luxury and designer goods in, for example, watches, accessories and beauty. Buying second hand is an easy way to find this at a better price and also do something good for the planet, she says and adds:
– The vast majority are more aware of the downsides of new consumption today and are therefore more positively disposed to shopping used. Then we have to remember that we have a recession and people have less money to move around with, which drives the growth in the used trade.

When it comes to what sells the best, there are several categories that topped Tradera’s sales charts in 2023. In a press release the company has listed beauty products, which had a total turnover of 40 million, which meant a growth in sales of 32 percent compared to the previous year.
Among the beauty products, perfume, make-up, face care, hair care and skin care products sold the best.
Hagelin says that there were other categories that also grew significantly and brought in large amounts during the previous year.
– In 2023, beauty was one of the categories that grew the most. We also saw strong growth in menswear, watches, sunglasses, collectibles and musical instruments. The fact that the second-hand beauty trade is increasing now may be partly due to the recession. In addition, many, especially young girls, who are also a large target group for beauty, are often environmentally conscious. We see a general change in attitude in society, where more and more people are questioning their new consumption and buying more second hand.
