Khaddi Sagnia had not competed since the WC in Budapest this summer due to a knee injury.
Today she was back and hit with 6.40 in the first jump. On the subsequent jumps she recorded 6.34 and 6.26. In the last two jumps she did worse and finished sixth in the competition.
– It wasn’t really there today, you need to compete. The feeling was good though, the training has gone well. But I need to compete and jump more, Khaddi tells TV4 about his competition today.
Sagnia does not have a place at the athletics European Championships or the Olympics this summer, but the dream lives on.
“This was Khaddi’s first competition in quite some time, but she is whole and healthy, so she is certainly betting on the EC in Rome,” writes her agent Daniel Wessfeldt in a text message to SVT Sport.
The last qualifying day for the EC is May 26.
