The last time Rauma Lukko didn’t make it to the top eight was in the 2017–18 season. Lukko was unable to win any of his last eight matches in regular time.
TPS’s decisive winning goal was scored by Aidan Dudas in time 50.56.
Lukko fell again to his inefficient superiority, that waste in the relegation series all eleven of his attempts. On the other hand, TPS scored two overtime goals on Monday, for which they were responsible Lukas Wernblom. The final score was sealed at 5–3 by a hit at the end Topias Haapanen.
– TPS’s strong belief in themselves and the extra time in the right place made Turku’s team reach the quarterfinals. If you look at the last five games in this series, TPS was on top of the game, even though it was quite even. Well-deserved continuation and the day after tomorrow against Tappara, commented Urheilu’s hockey expert Top Nättinen.
In the first period, the home team’s four court started the scoring. Harri Kainulainen punched Luko in front of the goal to make it 1–0 in 05:58. Kainulainen’s third career playoff goal, strong preliminary work defender From Matthew Abt and from the dock raised to the assembly I flew from Hämäläinen.
A substitution mistake by Rauma, too many field players on the ice cost a setback. The conductor of TPS superiority Viljami Marjalan the insight formed the basis for the 1–1 goal, which was answered by Lukas Wernblom in 7:39.
At the end of the set, Lukko, who cheered up, first destroyed his superiority and, in addition, the Canadian attacker Steven Jandric could not surprise the TPS guard Filip Lindberg from the penalty spot.
– Luka did not have controlled rhythms in the attack in the opening set. TPS was on top of the game for a long time, a good away game from Palloseura, Nättinen assessed.
A club blow to the eggs – TPS flashed overwhelming powers
In the second period, Luko had his own chances to turn the match around, but the unmotivated superiority and the wasting of goal posts seemed to have gone badly inside the team’s head.
TPS attacker Markus Nurmi was the character of the batch for better or for worse. He initiated the bet For Oliver Lauridsenwhose monster shot took the visitors to a 2–1 lead in 23:44.
In the middle of the set, in time 30:15, Nurmi was beaten by the Lukko defender Jakob Stenqvist to an obscure place. To the surprise of many, the TPS player survived the situation with only a two-minute sentence.
– It’s incomprehensible if that doesn’t result in a big verdict, even though there was damage. If we think about the safety of the players, then a big punishment should be the only option for hitting the eggs, expert Nättinen pointed out.
Nättinen said that he doesn’t understand certain fouls in hockey, which are kicking on skates, Tackling on the head and spearing.
– The penalties for tackles to the head have been relaxed this season. Apparently, these spearing penalties have also been (relaxed). Earlier we saw how Ilves Thomas Gregoire hit Tappara Take Somppi to an obscure place, and it didn’t even last more than two minutes. I really don’t understand these policies, Nättinen wondered.
Nurmi, who according to the expert should have been in the shower because of his act, scored immediately after getting off the ice for a 3-1 lead goal shot by Lukas Werblom in 33:14. The hit was the second power play goal of the evening for the powerful Swede, whose hat trick hit the post, which he shot from a penalty shot in 29:33.
Repo woke up Lukko
The lock woke up to fight when Sebastian Repo tricked the locker room with his knuckle at the end of the second set in 39:18. Until then, the game was pretty much in TPS’s pocket.
The strong and courageous Lukko skated to the third set, who received the award in 44:06, while the hero of the game in the opening series, who transferred from SaiPa to Rauma at the end of the transfer period Antoine Morand charged in front of the goal to equalize 3–3. Jami Krannila and Gabriel Fontaine pushed the assists from the corner.
TPS coach Tommi Miettinen was forced into overtime in 45.17. It was worth it.
Luko’s enterprising, but the biggest wasteful week of the evening Steven Jandric got through in the 49th minute, but for the third time TPS keeper Lindberg stretched out for an important top save against the Canadian.
Barely a couple of minutes later, against the current flow of the game Aidan Dudas shot directly from the pass into the top corner of the puck and TPS’s 4–3 lead in 50:56.
