The program of the finals of the Finnish Ice Hockey League has been published. The final series of TPS and Tappara will start on Wednesday.
TPS advanced to the finals against Tappara on Saturday, when the people of Turku knocked down Ilves 2-1. TPS advanced to the finals with 4-2. Tappara had previously grabbed his place in the finals by beating KooKoo 4-1.
Tappara will play in the Finnish Finals for the 20th time. For TPS, the place in the finals is 19th. Tappara last celebrated the championship five years ago, in the spring of 2017. The previous championship at TPS is in the spring of 2010.
On the way to the finals, Nelonen TPS won the fifth HIFK in the regular season and the third Ilves in the regular season. 13 matches were required from Turku for the finals. The winner of the regular season, Tappara, previously won Rauma Luko and Kouvola’s KooKoon in the playoffs. Tappara have played ten games in the playoffs.

– TPS’s style of play and gameplay poses the first real challenge for Tappara this spring. Tappara was able to beat Luko and KooKoo with relatively basic playing, Varakas describes.
