The information about the complaint submitted to the administrative court came as a disappointment to the Toyota rally team. The team is planning a test track and a technology center on the border of Jyväskylä and Lauka.
– A very sad thing. It inevitably delays the project, Toyota Technology Center project manager Jan Kinnunen says.
Several individuals appealed to the Hämeenlinna Administrative Court on Tuesday about the partial general plan and site plan approved by the Jyväskylä City Council in December.
According to Kinnusen, the team was mentally prepared for possible complaints, but nevertheless it was disappointing. Also from the point of view of the employment situation, it is unfortunate that the project cannot be started.
– We would have been able to employ tens, even hundreds of people during the construction project.
At this stage, Kinnunen does not estimate how much the complaint will delay the implementation. According to him, the design of the test track and the technology center will continue as usual.
So far, an underpass has been built on the site for the access road planned for the area, which secures access to the Metso outdoor trail that runs next to the area.
The stable wants to expand
Rallitalli’s 11,000 square meter premises are currently located in Jyskä, Jyväskylä. About 300 people work in the team.
Majajärvi, located on the border of Jyväskylä and Laukaa, is of interest to Toyota because there is room for expanding operations there.
– In Jyskä, there are not as many expansion opportunities as we need.
The stable’s operation is to continue in Majajärvi in the same way as in Jyskä, but with a larger volume.
