(Tiper Stock Exchange) – ToyotaJapan’s largest automotive company, will expand its current range of battery electric vehicles (BEVs), releasing ten new models by 2026, which would amount to 1.5 million vehicles in annual sales. This was announced by the top management of the Asian giant in a presentation event for the new management, announced at the end of January.
“We will strengthen hybrid electric vehicle sales, including in emerging markets, and increase the number of plug-in hybrid electric vehicle options,” said the new CEO Koji Sato – We will expand our range of battery electric vehicles, or BEVs, they represent an important optionin the next years”.
Hiroki Nakajima, Executive Vice President, then stressed that the group has plans to release Next Generation BEVs ‘Completely Different Than Today’. This new generation of BEVs “will double the range by using batteries with much higher efficiency, while delivering design and driving performance to set hearts racing.”
