It looks like Disney is refocusing on its fundamentals for upcoming animated productions. At least that’s what Bob Iger, current CEO of the entertainment corporation, announced during a call to its shareholders regarding the company’s first quarter financial results. On this occasion, the president of Disney lifted the veil on several of the studios’ upcoming animated productions. Among these, a certain Toy Story 5, which is therefore one of the studio’s future projects. Pixar. The previous opus, the aptly named Toy Story 4, was released in 2019 and met its audience, generating more than 1.07 billion in revenue. A spin-off dedicated to Buzz Lightyear was also released in 2022, attracting a total of $ 226 million in revenue.
After the failure of Avalonia at the American box office at the end of 2022, Disney seems to be looking for new assured successes and therefore wishes to dedicate itself again to the production of sequels or spin-offs.
