According to the authorities in Congo-Kinshasa, a new session of inter-Congolese talks should be held within two weeks after a first stage in Nairobi, in the presence of about twenty armed groups.
Not everyone took part in the Nairobi meeting and some movements are complaining about it. This is the case of the armed movement URDPC-Codeco, active in Ituri. According to their spokesman Gerson Baza Zukpa, the government lacks sincerity.
We had never neglected the various negotiations initiated by our government. Unfortunately, the government has never facilitated the return of lasting or effective peace to eastern Congo in general. our participation in the talks organized in Kenya was not easy […] Our position is not yet clear on our participation in the next meetings. However, we invite the government to intervene quickly to avoid inconvenience and for us to catch up.

Neither Monusco nor the presidency wished to react to the group’s remarks.
Another movement is absent, the MNLC based mainly in South Kivu. He explains that the Nairobi talks are an insult to the Congolese, that these negotiations are in fact controlled by Rwanda. According to the MNLC, the Congo is giving up its sovereignty by agreeing to come to the negotiating table.
