One is the world’s best orienteer and has WC medals in five different sports. The other has won Olympic gold as a cross-country skier and competed in biathlon and long-distance running.
Now Tove Alexandersson talks about her unexpected relationship with Stina Nilsson.

Tove Alexandersson32, can honestly say that she is among the world’s best practitioners in orienteering, ski orienteering, sky running, trail running and ski mountaineering. She has won WC medals in all five sports.
Tove Alexandersson’s great successes
There is no doubt that Tove is one of Sweden’s most versatile, successful and popular athletes. She received both the Jerring Prize and the Achievement Gold in 2019 for her incredible efforts as she won five WC golds that year alone. Three years later, she was awarded HM the King’s medal in gold for services to Swedish sports.
Another Swedish athlete who has achieved success in various sports is Stina Nilsson31. She was for many years one of the world’s best cross-country skiers and collected a total of five Olympic medals (one gold) and seven WC medals (two gold). Four years ago, she switched to biathlon and although it may not have gone quite as planned, she still ended up on the podium in the World Cup on two occasions. Ahead of this season, Stina changed sports again, this time to long-distance running.

Tove and Stina know each other
It turns out that the two athletes know each other. For Sportbibeln, Tove Alexandersson talks about the unexpected relationship with Stina Nilsson. It is a relationship that stretches back to growing up. Although they don’t know each other very well, they have bumped into each other from time to time, as they grew up in the same landscape. Tove comes from Borlänge while Stina comes from Malung.
– I know her very little. I have met her a couple of times. We both grew up in Dalarna and competed a little against each other in cross-country skiing when we were younger. So I’ve talked to her a little bit, says Tove.

They obviously don’t have much contact at all these days. But Tove really admires the sportsperson that Stina has become.
– She seems to be a fantastic person and a fantastic athlete. I am very impressed by the achievements she makes in sports and the path she takes. She is so strong and dares to make the decisions she makes. She really dares to go her own way. It’s awesome! Truly an impressive inspirational athlete in every way, she says.
Nice that Stina and Tove competed against each other quite a bit while growing up. Today, both are absolutely fantastic sportswomen. Hello you!
