One person died and twelve others in a group of tourists were trapped in an old gold mine in Colorado in the United States when an elevator broke down, according to local police.
The elevator ran into trouble about 150 meters underground while it was descending into the Mollie Kathleen mine with people inside. Police have not released any details about how the person died.
Twelve visitors are stuck 300 meters underground. They are safe and in contact with the emergency services while the work to repair the elevator is ongoing.
