Tourists in Sweden: “Rain is absolutely wonderful”

Tourists in Sweden Rain is absolutely wonderful

There are already tourists escaping the heat in Southern Europe to enjoy Sweden. And they can definitely imagine coming here again – despite the rain.

– I love this climate, says Antonella Cacciacarro, from southern Italy.

The sun shines over the Royal Palace in Stockholm, where tourists flock. But despite the bright sun, the thermometer only shows 18 degrees. Madrid resident Juan Antonio Bolaños, who is visiting on a cruise ship, likes it.

– In Madrid it is over 40 degrees. It is better here, he says.

He belongs to those who have already started to escape the heat in Southern Europe. During the last four, five years, he has sought his way north every summer. Next year the trip goes to Ireland.

Rain is not a problem, he believes.

– Yesterday we were in Copenhagen, where it was 21 degrees and raining. It was absolutely wonderful!

He is aware that the flights to the north contribute to the climate crisis.

– But the private jets emit even more. The really rich are the worst, he says before moving on to his guided tour.

A moment later, the Italian Falcone family appears together with their friend Antonella Cacciacarro. They live in the south of Italy and have never experienced it being as hot there as it has been recently.

– This year is extreme, says father Domicio Falcone.

When asked if they would like to go north again for more summers, they answer yes.

– I love this climate and this city – in the summer, says Antonella Cacciacarro.
