July 16: A girl is slightly injured after an incident with a wolf, according to her daycare center she was “bitten very briefly.”
July 18: The Den Treek estate is closed to visitors by an emergency order from the mayor.
July 25: The province of Utrecht is investigating whether they can capture the wolf, fit it with transmitters and ‘if necessary’ shoot it with paintballs.
July 31 (morning): A child is pushed over by a large animal, possibly a wolf.
July 31 (evening): The Province of Utrecht calls for caution in the forests of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. People with small children should avoid the area.
July 31 (evening): The Province of Utrecht announces that it is preparing a shooting permit.
