(Finance) – In the month of August theItaly (43.3%) maintains its position as the second preferred destination ahead Spain (42.8%) and France (30.6%) for booking rate of the accommodation facilities present on the online platforms. In line with the season, the most popular destinations are lakeside, seaside and mountain resorts with booking rates above the national average. This is what emerges from the data published today by the Ministry of Tourism. Well too art City which turn out to be, at a European level, the favorites of tourists, recording a booking rate of online accommodation facilities of 38.9%, ahead of Greece (38.6%), France (33.4%) and Spain (31.0%). Furthermore, Italy offers stays 6% cheaper than these countries.
“With an online accommodation booking rate of 43.3%, we are proud to maintain our position as the second favorite destination in Europe. Our wonderful cities of art are confirmed as the most appreciated in Europe, behind nations such as Greece, France and Spain. But they are not only the most attractive, but also the cheapest, since they cost 6% less than direct competitors: this figure makes us understand that we can do well, provide quality services at competitive prices. This is precisely the direction we want to take also on the subject of expensive holidays, which we want to address in a serious and concrete way, to help families in difficulty. The data we have available pushes us to optimism and shows that, also in the tourism sector, we have begun to free Italy’s energies”, commented the minister Santanchè.
“The reservations aerial increased by 18% compared to 2022, they are the testimony of the constant and growing interest in Italy – he added -. Foreigners, above all the Americans and the British, drive the flow (+25% overall) and particularly appreciate the quality hospitality, which proves to be the flagship of our nation. These results motivate us to persevere, with commitment and dedication, in the work that the ministry and the government are carrying out, aimed at investing more and more in the sector by making the most of our resources, offering varied and unforgettable experiences to visitors from all over the world, and investing in training to be more and more competitive”.
“In November, on the first International Tourism Forum not only will we take stock of the situation but we will plan, in a synergistic way with the involvement of other ministries, the present and the future of the sector so that it is increasingly considered an indispensable industry of the nation, not only from an economic point of view, but also from a socio-cultural point of view”, concluded the minister.
