Tour de France 2023 – LIVE: no stage, ranking after one week

Tour de France 2023 LIVE no stage ranking after

11:10 – “The first week suited me less” explains Vingegaard

“I would have preferred to save time than waste it on Tadej Pogacar, but I came to the Tour knowing that the first week suited me less than the following two,” explained Vingegaard. “So finding myself with the Yellow Jersey for the first day of rest is very satisfying for me. I felt pretty good, although apparently Tadej was still a little better than me. Today, we weren’t looking to win the stage, we simply controlled so that the gap wasn’t 40 minutes. I can’t wait to be in the Alps.”

10:30 – A fight for 3rd place

If the first two seem inaccessible, 3rd place in the Tour de France will be decided between several riders. For the time being, it is the winner of the Tour of Italy 2022 who has this 3rd place, but Carlos Rodriguez, the Yates brothers and Pidcock are in ambush.

09:40 – Vingegaard leader

The Dane is the leader of this Tour de France 2023 after a week of racing, he is ahead of his rival Tadej Pogacar by only 17 seconds. After a thunderous start from the outgoing winner, the Slovenian seems to have been steadily improving since the end of the week and the gap continues to narrow. The second week looks promising.
