11:10 – “The first week suited me less” explains Vingegaard
“I would have preferred to save time than waste it on Tadej Pogacar, but I came to the Tour knowing that the first week suited me less than the following two,” explained Vingegaard. “So finding myself with the Yellow Jersey for the first day of rest is very satisfying for me. I felt pretty good, although apparently Tadej was still a little better than me. Today, we weren’t looking to win the stage, we simply controlled so that the gap wasn’t 40 minutes. I can’t wait to be in the Alps.”
