Wednesday is one of the biggest hits in Netflix history. Over a period of several months, the Fantasy series from the Addams Family franchise in the streaming charts. Season 2 is already confirmed. For lead actress Jenna Ortega, however, Wednesday wasn’t the best experience.
She has commented on the chaotic production circumstances several times in the past. More than half a year after the premiere, there is still a great triumph for Ortega: At this year’s Emmy Awards, the als Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series nominated, as reported by the Hollywood Reporter.

Only Patty Duke was younger when she was nominated for Best Actress on The Patty Duke Show in 1964 at the age of 17. At that time, the Emmys did not distinguish between comedy and drama series.

Additionally, The Wrap notes that with Ortega and Pedro Pascal (nominated for Best Actor for The Last of Us) for the first time in a long time two latino actors are nominated in the main categories. Before Ortega it was America Ferrera in 2008’s Alles Betty!, before Pascal Jimmy Smits in NYPD Blue.

When does Wednesday season 2 start on Netflix?
It is not yet clear when Jenna Ortega will return to Nevermore Academy. Wednesday season 2 is currently in pre-production. So the filming has not started yet. Since the scriptwriters in Hollywood are currently on strike, the scripts are not likely to be finished yet. So it could still be some time before the Addams Family offshoot continues on Netflix.
