The ski season is in full swing again.
But the legendary Torgny Mogren is worried.
Now he vents his harsh words about Swedish skiing.
Two competition weekends are completed by the World Cup in cross-country skiing. Our Swedish ladies have been superior in the sprint races but otherwise it looks really bleak for blue-yellow skiing.
Mogren has his say
The Swedish skiing legend Torgny Mogren is an expert at Radiosporten and follows developments closely. Now he gives his view on the weekend’s results in Norwegian Lillehammer.
– First of all, I have to highlight Jonna Sundling’s sprint. It was completely superior in the qualifier and then she repeated it in the final. She won by three seconds and was completely unthreatened. Then I also have to mention Johanna Hagström, who did another top race and came second, he says on the radio channel.

Jonna Sundling and Johanna Hagström is now in joint lead of the sprint cup after each winning race in Ruka and Lillehammer. But in the distance races it has looked considerably more gloomy.
Johaug superior
Frida Karlsson won the premiere race in Ruka, but after that the Norwegian ski queen has Therese Johaug took over and in Lillehammer she was unstoppable. The Norwegian dominance was brutal to see this weekend and on the men’s side, the Swedish skaters are frighteningly far behind the Norwegians.

Mogren is now worried about the Swedish national skiing team after the World Cup weekend in Norway.
– It is sad that in the 10 km freestyle you miss with the skis so that the girls and especially Ebba (Andersson) and Frida (Karlsson) did not get to show what they were capable of in that competition. It was far too big a miss, he says in his analysis.
– There is too much Norwegian dominance, especially on the men’s side. But now the women’s side is also coming back with Therese Johaug’s entry into the Norwegian national team, which seems to have provided extra spark. Johaug’s superiority is worrying.
