The Tour de Ski is the big highlight of the ski season.
Frida Karlsson won last year, now a new Swedish winner is selected.

But we have also seen great worries for the star skaters Jonna Sundling and Frida Karlsson which has been plagued by positive covid news. Where the latter did not quite recover from the illness and chose this weekend to sit out a World Cup race.
– It was wise to stop last Sunday in Trondheim. I think she will be ready for the Tour de Ski and that is the goal. So we will hear how it is with her day by day over Christmas and before departure on December 28, says the national team coach Anders Byström to Radiosporten.

Ribom and Svahn
On Tuesday came the long-awaited announcement that Sundling is making a comeback to the Tour de Ski after a long absence due to covid. Here, too, it remains to be seen how much the 28-year-old can compete, but Byström is very hopeful.
– Jonna is never bad when she competes. In the sprint, she will definitely be there and fight at the top, as she usually does. So it will be really fun!, he says in the interview.

Sweden also has additional star names such as Emma Ribom and Lynn Svahn who can interfere in the fight for overall victory at the Tour de Ski. But it is neither any of them nor the reigning champion Frida Karlsson who is singled out as the favorite.

When Radiosport’s expert Torgny Mogren appoints its candidate for overall victory, it is a completely different Swedish national team colleague.
– The one who has shown by far the best stability is Ebba Andersson. I see her as the candidate to win the whole tour, he says on the radio channel.
