Tord Grip’s emotional words after the death of best friend Sven-Göran Eriksson – now open up: “The last time we spoke”

The Swedish coaching icon will forever be remembered for his incredible efforts at IFK Gothenburg when they won the Uefa Cup, triple league titles with Benfica, multiple cup titles and a league title in Italy and two consecutive World Cup quarter-finals with England. He has led some of the football world’s biggest club and national teams and always has the pair of horses by his side Thor Grip been with.

Now the best friend opens up about the grief after Sven-Göran’s passing.
– In the last few weeks, he quickly got worse. The last time I spoke to Svennis was last week. He was tired then, but we talked as usual, says Grip with emotional words to Expressen.
– Yesterday morning I spoke to his father, then Svennis was sleeping.

Last Friday, the TV documentary “Svennis” premiered on the TV channel Amazon Prime. It was the Swede’s big farewell and very emotional pictures.
– The last message was very emotional. We left the room and saw that he had to do it himself… We set up the camera, the sound guy listened outside the room. We all cried uncontrollably, says the director Claudia Corbisiero according to the English newspaper The Mirror.
– Take care of yourselves and take care of your lives. And live it. Goodbye, said Sven-Göran Eriksson with his last words.
