Nilsson’s career
He was the big star and goal scorer in the “Blue and White” that dominated in the 80s and won the Uefa Cup twice in 1982 and 1987. Nilsson also tried his luck in Europe with both PSV Eindhoven and FC Kaiserslautern but always returned home to the safety of Gothenburg.

Criticism of Sweden
More and more young football players retire already at the age of 11-12, and Nilsson is very concerned about the gloomy development where fewer and fewer children are playing ball. The legend now points out that the big problem lies with the coaches and their leadership.

– Try to understand how the players perceive you and how they perceive training. That question is very important because if you are going to develop yourself as a leader, you have to reflect on how others perceive you. And then try to weigh it against your own views, he tells the television channel.
