Unlike other promotional periods, such as Black Friday, sales are regulated by law. Thus, traders cannot use the word Sales outside the period set by the government. They are only entitled to sell goods in stock, copies of which have been offered for sale and paid for at least one month from the start date of this period. They must indicate the original price and the new price, or the amount of the discount. In addition, the products on sale and open must not be mixed, but well separated.

Before buying a product on sale, shop around to make sure you’re getting a good deal. Watch out for unscrupulous sellers who inflate prices before sales, which is an illegal practice.

On online sales sites, take transport costs into account and beware of sellers located outside the European Union, for example those present on marketplaces (Marketplace). Indeed, you may have problems with delivery times, customs and after-sales service. We also advise you to use secure sites such as Amazon, Fnac, Darty, Boulanger or Cdiscount for your purchases.
