NATO and the US plan to help Ukraine with an offensive against Russia. This is according to top-secret documents leaked on social media – something that Ukraine dismisses as Russian propaganda. – They will get to see the real plans on the ground, says Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s adviser Mychajlo Podoljak. Secret documents containing sensitive information from both NATO and the US have been leaked on social media, the New York Times reports. Among the secret documents spread on both Telegram and Twitter are details on how the US and NATO plan to help Ukraine prepare for an offensive against Russia in the spring. Lists detailing arms deliveries and battalion strength are also included in the documents, according to the newspaper. The US Department of Defense, the Pentagon, has launched an investigation to clarify who is behind the leak. – We are aware of the reports of posts on social media, and the department is investigating the matter, says Defense Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh. The Pentagon is also working to delete the documents from social media, something that has not yet been successful. Zelensky’s advisers deny the New York Times writes that the documents are at least five weeks old. One of the documents is dated March 1 and another is labeled top secret. There is no information in the documents about when Ukraine will carry out its offensive. Analysts the newspaper spoke to claim that the leaked documents could be part of Russian propaganda, partly because the Russian death tolls appear to have been redacted. Mychajlo Podoljak, adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, also believes that the documents are Russian propaganda. On Twitter, he writes that “photoshop” and “virtual fake leaks” are part of the Russian strategy. “Moscow is keen to disrupt Ukraine’s counter-offensive but they will see the real plans on the ground.
