Details: Ukraine involved in the murder • Several “mysterious” deaths in Russia

A Russian drone commander in the military has been killed in a suburb outside Moscow, Ukraine’s military intelligence service says. According to information in the Ukrainian media, Ukraine must have been involved in the murder.

The Russian colonel, Aleksey Kolomeitsev, was killed on Saturday in the city of Kolomna in Moscow Oblast, located ten miles from Moscow. This is stated by the Ukrainian military intelligence service, HOW.

51-year-old Kolomeitsev was found dead on Friday. He headed a military department responsible for training specialists in the use of so-called kamikaze drones, also known as attack drones, reports The Kyiv Independent.

The department targeted the use of Iranian-made Shahed drones, which Russia uses against Ukraine.

According to the intelligence service, the 51-year-old was “directly involved in Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine”.

Information: Ukraine behind the murder

Ukraine’s intelligence service has not claimed responsibility for Kolomeitsev’s death, but at the same time states that “every war crime will be punished with justice.” in a statement about the incident.

According to the Ukrainian news agency RBC-Ukraine, the killing was carried out by a local “resistance movement”. The local group works against the Kremlin and is said to have coordinated the attack together with the Ukrainian intelligence service, according to information to the news agency.

Russia has not yet commented on the incident.

Mysterious deaths

Kolomeitsev is not the first Russian to be killed under similarly mysterious circumstances in recent weeks.

On September 16, Ukraine’s intelligence service stated that a “Kremlin propagandist” had been killed in the city of Belgorod in Russia.

When the Kyiv Independent asked the intelligence services about who was behind the attack on him, they responded with a smiling emoji with sunglasses.
