Racing 92 won the derby against Stade Français. Lyon OU and Stade Toulousain lost, the results of the 21st day.
Racing 92 won the Paris derby on Sunday March 26 at the expense of Stade Français at the end of the 21st day of the Top 14. This is the fifth time in a row that the Racing club has won at Stade Jean Boin. However, Laurent Travers’ men got off to a bad start with Veikoso Poloniati being sent off in the 31st minute. His teammates were then galvanized and they finally managed to take over their rival (13-17). “When I see the commitment and the intensity tonight, it feels good. We could have cracked but the players transcended themselves. They were hungry”, admitted after the match the coach of Racing 92 who is in 7th in the ranking. On the Stade Français side, there was a lot of disappointment, as explained by hooker Laurent Panis, who felt “to be very disappointed with our performance and our indiscipline”.
Toulon, on the other hand, managed to take 6th place by beating 4th place Lyon OU at home. The leader, Stade Toulousain was unable to follow up with a third consecutive victory by falling to Castres Olympique. Montpellier came out in extremis in Perpignan (22-23). Aviron Bayonnais did not shine in front of their public defeated by Section Paloise just like Bordeaux Bègles crushed by Stade Rochelais (6-36) while ASM Clermont was not surprised at home against Brive.
