Took over residence and refused to move – tenant ordered to pay 180,000

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

A woman in Karlskrona sublet her apartment at the end of 2020. At the same time, her part of the contract with the landlord was terminated.

That’s when it all took an unexpected turn.

Took electricity from the laundry room and rented out an apartment black – now the tenant is being evicted

Occupied the apartment and refused to move

The woman who sublet the home is said to have taken in socially vulnerable people who would then refuse to return the home, it says Home & Rent.

When the apartment was to be emptied and cleaned on January 31, 2021, the landlord realized that the occupants had changed the lock and installed a surveillance camera. The group of individuals who stayed in the apartment came to stay there for another six months before it was abandoned.

The woman who rented out the apartment received another blow when the landlord sued her for non-payment of rent. The district court agreed with them and sentenced her to pay a total of SEK 180,000, including court costs.

Toxic fumes spread among apartments – residents had to be picked up by ambulance

Now the case has taken another turn. When the Court of Appeal chose not to hear the case, it was appealed to the Supreme Court, which has now granted leave to appeal. This means that the woman can get the right and thus not have to pay the costs.
