IJsselstein – IJsselstein thought it was a good idea: no longer do the landscaping yourself, but hand it over to waste processor RMN. But more than 10 years after that decision, the municipality reversed it. It became a mess, including too many weeds and poorly maintained trees. “Instead of progressing, things actually deteriorated on the street,” says alderman Peter Bekker.
