As with any other film, there are always scenes shot for the Marvel Cinematic Universe that don’t make it into the final work. As has now been revealed, there is also material from the first Iron Man part from 2008 that did not end up in the finished blockbuster.
MCU boss Kevin Feige is said to have said clearly that no one will ever see those passages. One of the deleted moments was also detailed.
Deleted Iron Man scene has Robert Downey Jr. steal washing machine parts
As reported by The Direct, then-Iron Man unit manager Jeremy Latcham spoke about it in a recent Screen Rant interview three or four deleted scenes from the Marvel film, which Feige is said to be ashamed of to this day:
There are still three or four deleted scenes left [Iron Man], which I don’t think will ever be released because they were so bad. I remember Kevin saying to me in 2012 when I asked, ‘Should we release the Abu Laundry deleted scenes?’ And Kevin was like, ‘No. We can never do the scenes with Abu’s laundry. People will know we don’t know what we’re doing. It would be embarrassingif they would see these scenes.
Latcham describes the scene in more detail in the conversation. In it, Tony Stark washes laundry for the wicked in Abu Bakaar’s captivity Stealing parts of the washing machine for his first version of the later Iron Man suit. The production manager describes the passage as absurd and wild.
That’s just one example of a weird deleted scene from the MCU. We don’t even want to imagine which unreleased wacky treasures from the comic film universe have been withheld from us until now…
