Tommy Salo reveals when Peter Forsberg completely outed him – and went on the attack: “He went completely crazy”

Tommy Salo and Peter Forsberg played together in Tre Kronor, but it wasn’t always peace and joy.
The former goalkeeper reveals when the mood was not at its best between the stars.
– He didn’t talk to us for a whole day, Salo tells Expressen.

During the 90s and 2000s each Tommy Salo and Peter Forsberg two of the top players in Sweden’s national team. Together they took, among other things, Three Kronor for their first Olympic gold, and were also able to salvage a WC gold and double WC silver.

Great success on the ice, but off the rink it wasn’t always the same smooth interaction between the two players. When asked who is the worst loser he has come across, Salo answers simply – Peter Forsberg.
– He does NOT like to lose! Once “Foppa” threw a deck of cards in my face, and then he didn’t speak to me for 24 hours. He just sent the deck straight in my face, he says to Expressen.

Forsberg’s outcome

It didn’t just happen on one occasion. Once when the duo was traveling, a similar incident took place.
– It was even worse when we were in Spain playing golf – me, Foppa and a friend of mine. We played cards and I decided and won with the last card. Foppa went crazy and scolded my friend, accusing him of helping me win. Then Foppa was pissed at us so it was enough. He didn’t talk to us for a whole day.

If the former world striker later apologized?
– No, he pretended that nothing had happened. That’s how he was. But we had played so much together, I knew him so well. That time he threw the deck on the floor and shouted that we had to pick it up. That was Foppa, that’s why he became the best in the world, says Salo.
