Tommi Niemela was hot from Tapparas goal the

Tappara took the lead in the first final of the SM league with a goal by Kristian Tanus. The Pelicans challenged the hit, but the goal was allowed.

In the finals of the Ice Hockey Championship League, we immediately saw a telling situation when Christian Tanus took Tappara into the lead after a good seven minutes of play.

Tanus got the puck in front of the goal Veli-Matti Savinainen through the skate and lifted the puck to the ceiling. Pelicans didn’t digest the situation, but challenged the situation by interfering with the goalkeeper.

In that situation, Savinainen’s stick hit the Pelicans keeper just before the goal Patrik Bartos too to the face. Pelicans was in contact with the person in the stands from the bench and decided to challenge the situation.

The challenge lasted a surprisingly long time, but in the end the situation was judged to be a goal. Pelicans head coach Tommi Niemelä got really heated in the situation and also used strong words during the discussion with the judges. Also the Tappara coach Jussi Tapola wanted to talk to the jury.

Sports expert Top Nättinen understand Tommi Niemelä’s reaction.

– Tommi Niemelä is very hot and I understand that completely. If the goalie’s mask is touched at the same time as the puck leaves the line, no matter how hard it is or how hard it is, in my opinion it affects the goalie’s defense work. Even though it doesn’t look like that in the video, Nättinen said recently on the Ice Hockey Tour.

Nättinen thought about how hard to hit the goalkeeper’s mask.

– Where is the limit, how hard can you hit? Should Bartos have thrown himself on the ground when the mask was hit? After all, a goaltender wants to block all pucks by nature. A very very interesting precedent. You can hit the mask and it has no effect.

Nättinen later recalled during a break that Niemelä also created pressure for the jury with his emotional outburst.

– Maybe at the end of the game, the feeling guided my actions and I thought that every hit should be whistled. But there is a point in the rules that situations can be interpreted, and according to the judges’ interpretation, it did not affect Bartosak.

– At least he stayed in the blocking position. And even if there was no blow, Tanus’ shot went into the top corner.

Tanus tells Urheilu that his hit was a great playoff goal.

– Savinainen was at the office working as promised. Even goals bounce in front of the goal. It’s great that it was accepted. In my opinion, such playoff goals should be accepted.
